The Research Behind BUILD Nebraska

Evidence-Based, Nebraska-Specific, Expert-Led

Why We Built This Program

In 2026, Rogers Solutions Group conducted an extensive Landscape Scan on Black Women Entrepreneurs in Nebraska, commissioned by IBBG in Omaha. We surveyed 59 entrepreneurs, conducted 4 focus groups, and held 10 one-on-one conversations across Omaha—building on a 4-year program evaluation of IBBG's Business Catalyst incubator program. BUILD Nebraska is built directly upon that foundation.

Key Finding: Black women entrepreneurs are the fastest-growing demographic in the US, yet the majority operate without employees due to critical infrastructure gaps—not lack of ambition.

Solution: BUILD Nebraska addresses these gaps with a 6-month intensive combining teaching, execution, coaching, and peer support.

Capital Readiness

Founder Wellness & Mental Health

Address the psychological roots of financial anxiety. Build emotional resilience, stress management, and confidence to lead a growing team. Learn from a psychiatrist and financial therapy expert.

Financial Operations & Systems

Move from reactive accounting to proactive financial leadership. Build audit-ready bookkeeping systems, master cash flow, and use AI/automation to scale without overwhelm.

Operations & Hiring

Transition from solo to employer-track. Understand when to hire, how to build systems that don't depend on you, and how to lead a team. Learn compliance, delegation, and scaling frameworks.

Peer Community & Continued Support

Break the isolation. Access a cohort of 20–25 peers who get it, plus expert mentors who stay engaged beyond graduation. Weekly cohorts, office hours, and a network built to last.
